Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as an anchor and journalist for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and acted as a crime reporter. The articles written by O'Dell in Charleston, about how the Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger direction for state officials. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. Following her stint at Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and as an investigative journalist. Then she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. As well as her job as the lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and as well contributes to Dateline NBC.
